Job Description
A rapidly growing, mature start up Financial Services Company, is looking to appoint a high calibre, qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) to be the new Head of Finance.
With ambitious growth plans, the Head of Finance / Financial Controller position will play an important role in providing financial information, and the broader stewardship function, to the company and stakeholders. Reporting to the Finance Director and based in the city of London.
This is a diverse business, with significant accounting and financial complexity, which requires a strong intellectual base and a hands-on approach.
This will be a high impact, high profile position as the company is about to embark upon an exciting period of growth and transformation as they prepare for further investors, banking licenses, due diligence processes and a future IPO.
Managing a small team, you will be responsible for the production and analysis of monthly management accounts and reporting packs, annual statutory accounts, management of the year-end audit, regulatory reporting, cash flow management and partnering with the business to maintain robust cost control and provide financial and commercial insight as the business grows.
Working closely with the Head of FP&A to ensure that forecasting and historic reporting are aligned and consistent messages are delivered to the business, board and Investors.
Requirements:
A qualified Chartered Accountant ACA (ICAEW), CA, ACCA or equivalent
Several years of audit and industry accounting experience along with significant post qualification experience - likely to be in financial services capacity in a hands on environment preferably with exposure to securitisation structures.
Proven leadership capabilities
Ability to Operate a tightly Controlled finance function
Desirable - previous due diligence experience
Be able to demonstrate proven business process change and continuous improvement experience
Experience of system development and change implementation
Possess strong quantitative/numerical and analytical skills
Sound verbal and written communication skills including Board/Management reporting experience
Proactive and have a continuous improvement approach to current financial processes and propose/devise improvements
You will provide excellent stakeholder management with all internal parties and multiple
external banks, advisory and legal practices.
Make improvements that take into account broader business/group issues and restraints
Demonstrate ability to think logically and laterally to provide solutions to complex problems/issues
Knowledge of and ability to research as required UKGAAP/USGAAP/IFRS requirements as well as regulatory and taxation requirements
